Truman on hand for alterations at Victoria Mill

Victoria Mill is a beautiful grade II listed building set in the heart of Manchester.

Working with our sister company Medlock, Truman will be performing remedial work to the ground floor of the development to fire protect the apartments above. The NHS facility currently occupying the ground floor will be moved into a temporary setting whilst the works are carried out. The works also include the formaton of a new drainage solution to the existing car parks.

Once the fire protection is completed, we’ll perform a full fit-out of the NHS facility, delivering a slick and modern customer-facing part of the premises while taking a minimalist approach to the back office spaces, allowing the heritage charm of the brickwork and ceiling arches to shine.

The fire protection is due for completion in April of this year and the new fit-out will be completed by November. This is an interesting project that comes with a number of challenges we’re keen to get our teeth stuck into.

Anytime you’re working with a historic building, particularly one with Grade II listed status, it's important to respect and preserve the history of the place and that’s something we’ll keep at the forefront of our mind as well as the work we’ve been brought in to accomplish.
